Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine sect.
The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Content
Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
Past Anime Crossovers
This signifies hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla subtly included a quest that clearly nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
