Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
