The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

This outcome could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a bad day for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and display

MVP Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with James Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard season average

Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into a touchdown just later

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season

Miami have served up a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver

Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park seems like a declaration

Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, just like Denver, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves credit for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his team to success

The defense is solid and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his first score

While you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Clash

Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both put up forty points to reach seven and two before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in LA

Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
