Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
