Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
