Ukrainian Forces Initiates Mass Production of New Defensive Drones
Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its air defences. The first three producers have started manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.
Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Conditions
These UAVs will be based on a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and proved effective “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of manufacturing as many as 1,000 interceptors each day.
Recent Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Deliberate
The Ukrainian president characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” following six people lost their lives and dozens injured in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Alert systems activated in Kyiv just after 12 AM on Friday, with Shahed drones soon heard overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.
Zelenskyy reported the country was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and 18 missiles. The deceased were at home in a block of flats on the capital's left bank when it was hit. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, including the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.
International Protest Following Embassy Damage
Azerbaijan announced it delivered a strong protest to the Russian ambassador this past Friday after the destruction at its diplomatic compound. An explosion from a Russian Iskander missile destroyed part of the embassy’s perimeter wall and resulted in significant destruction to the embassy grounds, officials from Baku reported. Russian Aerial Bomb Manufacturing Experiences Significant Increase
Moscow intends to produce as many as 120,000 glide bombs in the current year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official said, among them 500 of a new, extended-range model that is capable of targeting more towns and cities. Moscow's military were firing hundreds of aerial bombs daily, with last month’s average daily usage standing at approximately 170, according to defence ministry data.
Ukrainian Attacks Target Moscow's Oil Facilities
Moscow's Black Sea port of the port city halted for a period oil exports this past Friday – representing two percent of global supply – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Ukraine’s general staff stated its forces had launched domestically produced missiles and used various types of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of operations to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor.”
Ukrainian forces additionally struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in the adjacent Engels region overnight.
International Sanctions Impact Russian Oil Producer

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy will convene with representatives from both chambers of the legislature during his visit, the Spanish statement said.
